The ship to Andaman from Chennai usually takes around 3 days, and ship to Andaman from Kolkata takes around 5 days depending on weather conditions. The frequency of sailings varies, with Kolkata having one or two sailings per month, and Chennai and Vizag having one sailing per month. However, it is important to note that ship journeys can be long, tiredness and may be affected by weather conditions. Therefore, we generally recommend taking flights to Andaman Islands for a time-saving and convenient travel experience.

For Indian Nationals

To enter the Andaman Islands, Indian nationals must carry a valid proof of identity. Acceptable documents include: Aadhaar Card, Passport ,Driving License, Ensure that the document you carry is up-to-date and valid for the duration of your stay.

Indian nationals do not require a visa to visit the Andaman Islands. Please note that PAN Card is not accepted as an ID proof. It is strictly prohibited to enter the tribal areas and any other sensitive areas. Permissions from authorized agencies are required to enter areas occupied by defense or paramilitary forces.

For Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals, including NRIs and OCI cardholders, require a permit called Restricted Area Permit (RAP) to visit the Andaman Islands. This permit is easily obtainable upon arrival at Port Blair by flight or ship from the Immigration Authorities. The RAP allows a stay of 30 days, subject to the availability of a valid visa. However, it is important to note that the compulsion of RAP has been removed from 30 islands.
